Why Your LED Strip Light Can Not Work?

LED Strip Lights refer to assemble the LEDs in the FPC (flexible circuit board) or PCB. It gets the name from the shape like a strip. It can widely be used in furniture, automobile advertising, lighting, ship, bar, etc. However, sometimes, the strips won't light up when we are using them. Do you even think about it why and how to fix it? At first, you should check the following issues.

1. Please confirm whether the voltage of the power supply and the current rating is compatible with your LED strip Light.

2. Please confirm whether your power supply is working properly.

3. Please make sure all the connectors or wires are connected tightly.

4. Please check and isolate other accessories on the same circuit.

If all the above info is correct, the strip lights can work well, unless, the strip light itself may have the following problems.

1. The package of LED strip lights is not good enough, which caused the LED chips to be broken or damaged during shipment.

2. There may have some false welding issue in the welding point of the strip lights or the solder spot off when rough transportation.

3. The welding point falls off easily because of the small amount of welding.

4. Poor welding, caused the welding point crack or falls off when bending.

5. The bending angle of the strip light is too much when it is installed, so the solder joint and the copper foil separated.

6. The LED chips will damage or the solder joint will deform when a excessive bending installation.

7. As the welding resistance layer is too thick, the welding tin and circuit board can not be fused together completely.

8. The LED Strip Lights are twisted when installed, which caused the solder joint fall off.

9. The electrostatic failed. As the LED is an electrostatic sensitive component, the chips will burn out if there are not any static protection measures.

All in all, the above problems will cause the entire strip light can not light up or just some section LEDs can not work normally. If the solder joint falls off, you just need to reheat them, or cut off the failed parts and rejoin them together. Or the most simple way, ask your supplier for a replacement.

Through the above info, I hope that helps you understand the reasons why strip lights can not light up and how to fix them easily. If you have other questions or supplements, please contact us: info@ledsix.com.
