The production process of the LED strip is divided into two kinds of manual welding and SMT automatic welding, one is purely manual work, the quality of the product depends entirely on the skill of workers and welding technology; one is to rely on equipment to automatic welding, the quality of the product depends on the skill of the technical staff of the process and the maintenance of equipment good or bad. 

The following is a comparison and analysis of the two processes: 

1, manual welding FPC pad tinning ---- fixed LEDs and resistors --- to the pad tin fixed components --- testing --- cleaning --- packaging Advantages: small investment, mobile and flexible. Suitable for small batch and multi-species operation.   Disadvantages: a solder joint is not smooth, beautiful, there is a general tin tip, dross, tin package, flux splash phenomenon; b, easy to burn LED package c, LED is easy to be an electrostatic breakdown, if the soldering iron and soldering table does not do anti-static grounding measures, welding LED is easy to be an electrostatic breakdown.   d, LED easily burned by high temperature, if the soldering iron in the welding time lasts too long, the LED chip will be burned because of high temperature overheating.   e, easy because the staff is careless or unskilled operation and caused by empty welding, short circuit phenomenon.   f, low efficiency, high rework rate resulting in higher production costs.    

2, SMT automatic SMD reflow soldering open stencil --- printing solder paste on top of the FPC --- SMD --- pre-furnace inspection --- reflow soldering --- post-furnace appearance inspection --- functional test --- life test --- QA sampling --- packaging Advantages: a solder joint is bright and clean, a circular arc of uniform distribution of pads and components electrodes, neat appearance b, will not be due to misuse and scalding LED package c, anti-static measures are complete, will not cause the LED is electrostatic breakdown phenomenon d, in addition to bad maintenance, do not need to use a soldering iron, because the high temperature and the chances of scalding the LED chip are small.   e, you can modify the stencil, adjust the accuracy of the printing machine, placement accuracy, reflow temperature curve, and other methods to effectively control the empty solder, short circuit, and other welding defects f, high efficiency, low rework rate, lower production costs.   

Disadvantages: large investment, long time to change the line (not flexible enough), more consumables required (stencil, solder paste, equipment accessories, etc.), the production waiting period is long.
